PracticeMaster integration compared to ndLink — how is it different?
Prior to the release of the PracticeMaster + NetDocuments Integration feature, client and matter information synchronization was handled by the ndLink utility via either PracticeMaster or Tabs3 Billing. Although this was an effective method of sending client information to NetDocuments, users still had to use the NetDocuments interface to access documents associated with individual clients or matters. PracticeMaster’s integration allows you to access NetDocuments files from PracticeMaster itself via the Client or Matter Manager programs as well as include them in your Conflict of Interest searches.
In order to integrate with NetDocuments, your firm must have the following:
- PracticeMaster Version 19.1.11.1209 or later must be installed.
- An active NetDocuments account.
- An active Internet connection on all workstations that will be accessing NetDocuments files in PracticeMaster, and any workstations that add, change, or delete clients in Tabs3 Billing, PracticeMaster, or Trust.
- If you have third-party security software installed on your workstations or network, you may need to create an exception for the VAULT.NETVOYAGE.COM and API.VAULT.NETVOYAGE.COM domains to allow PracticeMaster to communicate with the NetDocuments servers.
- Note: PracticeMaster Basic does not include NetDocuments integration.
Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, the renumber process will automatically update the client and matter information in NetDocuments.
Can PracticeMaster access and search more than one Cabinet in NetDocuments?
Yes, PracticeMaster integrates with NetDocuments at the Repository level.
We were previously synchronizing clients to NetDocuments using ndLink. Do we still need to synchronize all of our clients after configuring integration in PracticeMaster?
No, it is not necessary to synchronize existing clients to NetDocuments from PracticeMaster. However, keep in mind that any clients added between the time you disabled ndLink and the time you enabled NetDocuments integration in PracticeMaster were not synchronized to NetDocuments.
